Stillwater fly fishing is the place most people start fly fishing. It is the natural first step for a lot of
genuine reasons and where I would recommend that you learn the basics.
It is easier to learn the basic casting techniques at a stillwater, or should I say a good stillwater.
When you are first learning you will experience a little frustration as your body adopts the correct muscle memory for the
casts you want to execute. This is only a passing phase and goes quickly the more you practice but it is easy to get muscle fatigue
so you need a place to sit and rest, have a "cuppa" before starting again.
I provide all the equipment you will need for your first lessons and I would advise that you use mine before buying your own,
then I can advise you on what to buy and more importantly what not to buy! All my rods, reels and lines come from Greys
and are renewed on a regular basis. All you need to bring with you are some sort of hat, baseball type is good and if you don't wear
spectacles normally, then sunglasses for basic protection.
I do three levels of tuition for beginners - a 2 hour starter lesson, half day and full day just email me for details.
Prices start from only £50.00 for a 2 hour complete beginners lesson and includes all your equipment, as required,
your fishing permit. Gift vouchers are available and can br paid for by credit/debit cards here

I use just one fishery for the majority of my stillwater tuition, Curley's Trout Fishery in Horwich, Lancashire. It has everything I need and hopefully everything my clients need. Log cabin cafe, secure parking, toilet facilities, decked viewing area, 6 acre reservoir with pontoon, bank and boat fishing and a small starter lake. |

All complete beginners that I teach start at Curley's Fishery. Click here for more details
It lacks for nothing and that's why I use it exclusively So you can learn with me in one of the very best fisheries in Lancashire and the North West. |
