Wading sticks come in all sizes and shapes. What you need in a good stick is some weight at the base to cut through the current and be able to withstand some pressure if you need to lean on it a bit. A lot of the "modern" telescopic sticks are not very good and I have witnessed a few fall to bits in the middle of a river - not what you want at all.

I have managed to source some very unique one piece wading sticks. At the top of each one is a colour drawing of a fly fishing scene, Salmon, Trout or Grayling. Each one is absolutely unique and a complete one off. The artwork and the stick shaft is protected by several layers of varnish and can be cut to size to suit the individual user.
